Therapeutic Massage during COVID-19

This post is regarding our office procedures to bring you massage safely and effectively during an unprecedented time.

We are blessed to be open. We are gratefully accepting new clients. We are excitedly seeing our existing clients that are comfortable coming to the office and with the new procedures.

*Since reopening and going forward, masks are required by both clients and therapists. We also have gloves available if you would like them to be used during your session.

*Extra cleaning time and procedures in between appointments have been implemented that are in accordance with both our state and massage specific guidelines. Hand sanitizers are located throughout the office as well as sink access to clients if you prefer to wash your hands.

*There will also be an updated intake form, COVID-19 health information and informed consent forms to be completed prior your session.

*We also offer contactless pay through PayPal card reader. We still do accept cash and check.

All providers in Suite 208 are striving to maintain excellent hygiene standards and we appreciate you working with us to keep our community safe.

82 days since reopening and 0 COVID-19 cases with us! Our procedures are working.

Thank you, awesome clients, for choosing us and helping us have a successful massage practice!

Respectfully, Marie Wagner, LMT

Three of the Most Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to Marie Wagner, LMT’s blog for massage therapy! Enclosed in this blog post are three FAQ’s regarding massage and your first visit to the office.

What are the benefits of massage and bodywork?

Massage and bodywork can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, and improve posture. Massage and bodywork are also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety, and create an overall sense of well-being.

Are there any medical conditions that would make massage or bodywork inadvisable?

Yes. That’s why it’s imperative that, before you begin your session, the practitioner asks you to fill out a form regarding your health and you both discuss any health problems and/or medications that you are taking. If you are under a doctor’s care, it is strongly advised that you receive a written recommendation for massage or bodywork prior to your session. Depending on the condition, approval from your doctor may be required. Licensed massage therapists are allied health professionals and we work together with the rest of your health team.

What should I do during the massage or bodywork session?

Prior to your massage, feel free to ask the practitioner any questions about your upcoming session. During the massage, make yourself comfortable. The practitioner will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session (such as lifting your arm). Many people close their eyes and completely relax, communication if/when they need more or less pressure, another blanket, or anything else relevant to the session. If you have any questions regarding your session or about the particular technique you are receiving, feel free to ask!

Introducing Myself

Hello, from Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. My name is Marie Wagner and I am a licensed massage therapist.

I was first introduced to massage therapy as a tool for migraine relief. Not only was massage effective in helping me have less migraine days, it soon became a great tool for me to manage my stress.

I am certified through Harrisburg Area Community College, licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and insured by ABMP. I specialize in oncology massage. I provide therapeutic massage that is tailored to your specific needs.

Closed Business During Covid-19

April 30, 2020

We’re living in unprecedented times. Tomorrow marks seven weeks of the massage office being closed. And for good reason. Currently the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is in a slow transition to open up more essential businesses with precautions. The massage industry does not have an estimated date to open at this time.

I am a grateful licensed massage therapist. I am grateful for my already existing client base. They are an incredible group of individuals who takes how they feel very seriously. These people understand how incredible they truly can feel! Our amazing bodies are capable of feeling strong, happy, and easy moving. So, how does your best self feel? Let me know below in the comments or on this post.

I wish you and your family the best during these unprecedented times.
